France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
White wine, light straw colour, quite pale on the rim, with a green tinge. Pure nose, medium intensity, still rather youthful, showing discreet fruit; rather on the white fruity side, like pear, apple, some notes of citrus. There’s a slight hint of oak, but not really toasted oak or new oak. Palate is quite sleek in a lighter towards medium-bodied style, with an emphasis on freshness. There’s a high acidity, quite mouthwatering. The fruit is still a bit restrained, youthful; there’s a gentle hint of bitterness, like apple skin, a bit like lemon zest, that also gives a lift and freshness. Oak is not really noticeable on the palate, it feels like it’s there but well-hidden in the background. Modest alcohol, feels more like a Chardonnay from a cooler climate, in a nice gastronomic salivating fresh style. This one I would like to keep for another one to two years so it will just round off those youthful edges and develop a bit more of the fruitiness.
