France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Very youthful colour, intense and inky core, purple rim, still very youthful. The nose starts out discreetly, there’s some balmy notes, leather, spicy notes and slightly cooked fruit, like cooked plum, crushed berries. Palate is very concentrated, in a sweet and round style, still marked by quite youthful tannin. There’s not a lot of oak, it’s rather an emphasis on a very high ripeness of fruit. It’s a very fruit-dominated style, I think it’s still very young, very grapey style, it still feels like fresh fermented wine, with attractive juicy dark fruit. Some astringency on the mid-palate thanks to the tannin, but otherwise a round texture, with ripe sweet fruit, and a quite long finish.
