Very dark and inky colour. Ripe nose of dark fruit, liquorice, new oak and roasted nuts. The palate is dense and concentrated, rather high extraction but no hard edges, layers of dark fruit, plenty of firm tannin, roasted flavours and a long finish, an ambitious wine that still requires some time to find balance.
