Alto de La Ballena – Cetus Cuvée – 2011
Maldonado

Uruguay,
Maldonado,
Inky dark core with some maturity, more red than purple even if dense. The nose shows some maturity as well, intense aromas of red cherry, some new oak, dry spices, ginger and a balsamic spiciness. The palate is dense with high tannin but starting to soften, no harshness even if tannic, a fresh backbone juicy red fruit and kirsch notes with some herbal notes and a long, fresh finish. Some complexity and evolution. More traditional style like Brunello with nice character and personality.
