Intense dark inky purple core. Rather roasted nose of new oak, smoke, cassis, ripe herbs and sweet plum. The palate is dense, polished and modern, still just a bit marked by new oak but fine quality fruit, grainy tannin, a fresh backbone and a long smooth finish. Should improve considerably.
