Aresti Chile Wine – Family Collection Assemblage – 2012

Curico Valley
MEDAILLE-TASTED-93-2024
Chile,
Curico Valley,
Inky dark purple core with a lighter rim. Intense and mature nose with fine evolution and complexity. Notes of black truffle, smoke, tobacco, leather and dark fruit like cassis, plum and cherry, well-integrated oak. The palate is very dense, almost massive but no hard edges, well distributed tannin, albeit still young with plenty of more to come, elegant fruit with a layered spiciness, a fresh backbone, nice mature notes of tobacco and truffle, and a long, dense and lingering finish. A serious wine with plenty of more to come, I would put it back for at least another 2-3 years.
