Arnaldo Caprai – Collepiano – 2016

Montefalco Sagrantino
MEDAILLE-TASTED-95-2024
Italy,
Umbria,
Dark purple core and a ruby hue. Ripe and intense nose showing some new oak, dark berries, crème de cassis, smoke, truffle and leather. Very dense and powerful palate, youthful and vigorous with layers of spicy dark fruit, tobacco, cocoa and dry spices. The texture is youthful with immense tannin, yet well-rounded starting to soften. Very long and powerful finish, a big wine still needing a few years to come around but great potential.
