Dark purple core and a ruby hue. Intense nose offering some balsamic notes, ripe dark fruit like cherry, plum and cassis with a hint of smoke and new oak. The palate is youthful and vigorous with high concentration, plenty of young but fairly ripe tannin, some spicy and oak derived vanilla, clove and pepper notes with sweet dark fruit and a long lingering finish. An ambitious effort still needing time to open.
