France,
Rhone Valley,
Medium deep ruby red colour, some evolution on the rim towards tawny. Quite sweet nose, ripe with sweet plum, some pepper, some leather, tobacco. Traditional style, without any new oak. Warm palate, medium weight but quite rounded, some spiciness there too again like garrigue, some pepper, some notes of leather. I would call this rather sweet Grenache fruit, with sweet plum, some peppery notes. Well integrated tannins. I already find this drinkable, juicy and attractive in a traditional Southern French style. It will evolve for sure over the course of 5-6 years, but I like it very much already now, to enjoy with something hearty and rustic from the Southern French cuisine like cassoulet.
