Spain,
Castilla y Leon,
Quite dense and youthful colour here, dark ruby with a hint of purple. Generous nose, offering sweet plum and dark berries. Slight hint of wood and vanilla, with some spicy notes of anise seed. On the palate, it appears quite young. There is still a good presence of roasted oak. Quite high degree of toast, there. Still with very youthful tannin. Still a bit protruding on the palate. Plenty of sweet fruit there with plum, dark berries. A medium towards long finish. Clearly a style that has a potential. But it should need some time to shed that oak, those tannins and to open up a little bit more. So I prefer to put this back in the cellar for at least another two years.
