Italy,
Sicily,
Ruby red core, slightly more evolution on the rim here, some rusty notes. Quite mature on the nose here, I think this is a wine that is showing quite attractive fruit, dried cherry; feels quite ripe and warm with some jammed red berries, almonds, some herbal and spicy notes. On the palate it’s quite rounded here in terms of texture, we still get a slight tannic presence on the finish but it’s showing quite juicy bitter red cherry fruit. Good freshness, and a quite rounded supple texture with a certain spiciness going on on the finish; almost some orange zest, almond, herbs, with that red cherry fruit. Quite long finish. Good drinkability today; it’s probably a wine that could be kept in the cellar for another few years, but I think it’s really showing off quite well today.
