Spain,
Rioja,
Red wine with a slightly developed colour, it’s rather tawny towards the rim, with a ruby centre. The nose has a certain evolution as well here, not really primary fruit but rather leather, some dried berries, spices, some floral notes, some spicy notes of aniseed and bay leaf; a small hint of oak, vanilla. Palate has medium weight, it still appears on the young side with a quite high presence of tannin. There’s some more wood shining through on the palate with some notes of vanilla. Well-balanced freshness again, and I would call this style more traditional with longer élevage, thus not showing primary fruit but rather more complex flavours. It appears a bit youthful, but otherwise it has a fine balance with a good level of freshness, elegant fruit, quite complex spiciness on the finish, good length and structure. Another few years in the cellar and it could be a very nice drinkable wine.
