Spain,
Castilla y Leon,
Medium intense, ruby-red colour, appearing to have some age. Fine nose, displaying sweet fruit, mostly on the red fruity side with plum and red berries. With some sweet hints of orange peel, ginger. A little hint, but not a lot of oak. The palate has medium weight with quite a high extract. There is still a tannic sensation there. Emerging as freshly ground white pepper, some dried herbs and a slightly dry mid-palate. However, starting to open up. There is certainly a drinkability in this one. Even though I think in terms of texture it should perhaps round off the edges for another one to two years. Otherwise, it has attractive fruit, nice juicy red berries. Good balance with acidity and medium towards long finish. The oak is pretty toned down.
