Spain,
Castilla y Leon,
Quite an intense colour, still with a deep core, ruby-red. Losing some youthfulness at the rim. Intense nose, showing some maturity, evolution and complexity. Slightly wild nose I would say. There are some meaty and gamy notes there. Some barnyard, with leather, sweet dried fruit and some vanilla and oak as well. So quite a traditional style it seems. Nice mouthfeel. It has gotten some maturity. It feels like a quite powerful and bold wine that is just about to start to shed some of the youthful tannins. Nice and sweet fruit. Still with that spiciness on the finish, some gamey, meaty and leather notes, quite an opulent structure. Good level of freshness. The balance between ripe fruit and acidity is fine and it has a long finish. Quite a lot of structure there. If you like straightforward and moderately clean, it might not be your thing. If you like that slightly more traditional style with some of those barnyard and leathery notes, it is a quite complex example actually.
