Argentina,
Mendoza,
Very inky colour here, blue-purple core, not really showing a lot of evolution. Fine and intense nose really on the fruity side, some earthy hints, wild berries like blackberry and raspberry. Quite sweet, but still not really overripe fruit. Slight hint of roasted wood. Nice palate, it is really not in terms of structure it is not really a massive wine. I think there is a good density of fruit, but it keeps within that medium range. I really like the elegance of the fruit here, like crushed blackberry, raspberry, red and dark fruits. With high ripeness, but still a lot of freshness. Really grainy and fine tannin giving a quite silky mouthfeel. Good length. Layered and persistent finish, with some fine spices; like clove, pepper, some sweet notes like, apricot almost, with those red and dark berry fruit flavours. So a very nice example, very fine drinkability today. Will surely go on for a long time, but I would happily drink this today.
