Argentina,
Mendoza,
Really dark and inky core. The colour is starting to fade a little bit on the rim, still appearing rather youthful. Quite intense nose. I think the nose is showing some evolution here, so very high ripeness of fruit, verging on the dry slightly jammed fruit. There is a lot of oak here, roasted, almost burnt oak. Then some liquorice and a lot of spiciness. The palate is quite dense and concentrated; a lot of weight here. I would say quite massive at this point, because I think that the oak is appearing rather, it dominates the palate right now. There is plenty of dark fruit beneath there, quite sweet, almost jammed fruit. Slightly burnt oak and a clear presence of tannin as well. A wine I would prefer to put back in the cellar for a while. It is still a bit young and wild, it needs to settle a little bit. So let’s get back to it.
