Argentina,
Mendoza,
Red wine with a medium towards deep ruby-red colour. The rim is indicating it has gotten some age. The nose is showing quite a good deal of freshness at first. Not a massive ripeness here, but rather on the red fruity side with plum, red currant and some notes of cassis. Then there is a slight herbal spiciness with some sage and mint. The structure is quite broad, it is a wine that has a lot of extract. I would say that the tannins are ripe, but it is still quite young. So you still have a presence in terms of extract. However, the fruit is rather elegant here with a good level of acidity, like crushed red currant, with cassis. A nice herbal spiciness, not like in green as in austere, but adding freshness to this, with some bay leaf and sage. So juicy fruit, quite good weight in terms of fruit. The oak is rather integrated, not really noticeable. Fresh and quite persistent finish, still youthful. A wine that certainly has the capacity to go on for a few years. After twenty minutes in a decanter it should be pretty drinkable today.
