Bodegas Trapiche – Oak Cask – 2014
Mendoza

Argentina,
Mendoza,
Rather dark colour here medium towards dark with a blue-purple core and more ruby towards the rim. Fresh nose there, with mostly primary fruit, a mix of red and dark berries, there is some dried spices there, like black pepper, some clove, cinnamon. Discreet oak, some roasted notes in the background. The palate is quite generous and warm here, with juicy, dark fruit, quite sweet fruit even though the wine remains dry. There is a very soft and subtle texture, so more on the sweet fruity side. You feel the ripeness in this one, it is a warm climate style. Pretty well restrained as more freshness is emerging on the finish, with those mildly spicy and peppery notes. So an attractive wine for fairly early drinking.
