Argentina,
Mendoza,
Quite dark colour, not the most massive, but still with a blue-purple core. Intense nose here. Displaying floral notes; violet, really ripe dark fruit, like blackberry and cassis. Underlined by quite mild spices; like some clove, cinnamon, pepper. Rather elegant oak, some notes of tobacco leaf. I really like this palate here. It is juicy with a good level of freshness. Even though it has a nice density, but it is rather on the fruity side. The tannins are well integrated, grainy, with a fine underlying spiciness there, pepper, clove, with blackberry, cassis. Very discreet oak, but it is really what I would call a digest style, with a juicy long finish. Already displaying a certain level of complexity. Mouth-watering finish, and really generous fruit. I would happily drink this today - well I am drinking it right now actually. But of course with this structure, it is a wine that will easily continue to develop for another five, eight to ten plus years. So a nice example.
