Chile,
Colchagua Valley,
Quite intense colour. Deep purple core, but slightly lighter towards the rim. Fresh nose. With no indication of oak. Rather primary fruit with ripe black currant, plum and dark cherry. Slight hint of leather, slight hint of meat. Quite dense palate. Still appearing rather youthful, with a presence of tannin. Otherwise a good level and a good balance between ripe, dark fruit and acidity. There is no really any sense of oak. So a classic mid-weight, I would say. With a good concentration of fruit. Quite a long finish. A wine that, I still think, it would benefit from further ageing in the cellar for the tannins to round off a little bit. Or give it a thorough decantation before drinking it.
