Italy,
Tuscany,
The colour is developed it still has a quite dense ruby-red core, but it is losing some of that intensity towards the rim. The nose has some development as well. It is showing quite ripe fruit here. With a lot of dark cherries, cassis, some spicy notes of anise seed and mint. Some sweet berries as well. Slight hint of oak in the background, but it has gotten some age it seems so it is starting to integrate a bit more. Good density on the palate. Quite full-bodied with plenty of extract. Rather finely grained right now. So there is no tannic or any harsh or dried sensation. Just giving a lift to the palate. It is quite full of those dark, fruity flavours are found on the nose. Such as dark cherry, cassis, anise seed, mint. The alcohol is in check and there is a vibrant acidity underneath. Long and lingering finish, with some spicy notes of again liquorice and mint. Fine drinkability today. Obviously, with a density to go on and develop more harmony and complexity in the coming years, but it drinks pretty well today.
