Italy,
Tuscany,
Medium to deep colour, ruby-red nuance. Youthful nose, pure. Quite modern with an emphasis of ripe fruit, underlined by some gently roasted oak. A hint of vanilla, then sweet fruit such as dark cherry, red currant, plum, and some mild spices. The palate has a good grip. It is still appearing rather youthful with a quite high extract. Still a slight tannic sensation on the mid-palate. It has a good mouthfeel, rather dense texture- dense structure I should say. Good weight. Still happening things on the aftertaste, so we can talk about a long finish. The flavours are really dominating by dark cherry, some sweet blackcurrant or red currant, with juicy plum. I would say it is a nice example. Rather modern style, with good potential. It is probably drinkable today if it gets a good aeration and something rich in protein to enjoy with it. I would easily say that this should gain much more complexity over the course of the coming three to five years. After that, it could be kept for another ten, if you like that style of wine.
