Italy,
Tuscany,
Quite dark colour intensity, however with a certain evolution. Nothing blue-purple, rather dark ruby red. Slightly lighter rim. Expressive nose, quite intense. Good purity here. Fine combination of slightly roasted oak with juicy dark fruit, such as cassis, dark plum, some aromatic herbs. In the direction of sage and mint and dark cherry. Good evolution. Still youthful, but with a certain complexity. Very nice grip on the palate, really full-bodied. Intense with a ridged structure. We have a high level of extract here, but good tannin. Finely grainy with some notes of chocolate then mostly very dark fruit like blackberry, dark plum, more on that slightly herbal spiciness on the finish. Not unripe herbs, but like ripe herbs again those fine notes of sage. Gently roasted. There is a high ripeness, a quite high alcohol. I really like this balance because there is a juicy acidity all along. A very dense wine that should doubtlessly continue to develop for quite a long time. I find it pretty attractive already now. I would definitely give it a thorough decantation and enjoy it with an enormous steak, and it should be pretty fun.
