Italy,
Basilicata,
Medium deep ruby-red colour. Quite dense at the core, but more evolution towards the rim. Fine nose here, quite intense. With some floral notes, rather dark fruit here, ripe dark fruit, dark plum, dark cherry, some wild herbs. Good grip on the palate. Quite full-bodied here, with a lot of extract. It is not appearing harsh now but there is a lot of tannin. Certainly a style that needs a few years of ageing before it reaches that level of drinkability. I would call this one nice today, but there is still a presence of tannins. Preferably a style we should have with rich and intense food I think. Anyhow really attractive fruit. Almost an exotic style here with a lot of spiciness, those wild spices, sweet dark berries. Good structure, good length and intense. Should continue to develop really nicely and gain more complexity.
