Italy,
Lazio,
Very dense and dark colour impenetrable with a purple hue. Fine nose, good intensity here. Very ripe fruit, so plenty of sunshine it seems with dark plum, cassis. There are some herbaceous notes, but quite ripe herbs like mint and sage. No indication of oak really. Good grip on the palate. Full-bodied with moderate levels of extract. I think the tannins are rather grainy and integrated already. Quite a meaty sensation with some peppery notes. Juicy blackcurrant fruit, with dark plum. Really long and chewy finish. It indicates sweetness but it finishes dry, with attractive berry fruit. A wine that should certainly develop for eight to ten more years, but I find it pretty attractive already.
