Italy,
Tuscany,
Still a youthful colour, with a quite dense purple core, slightly lighter towards the rim. Pure nose. Still appearing youthful with mostly primary fruit. Rather dark fruit character here, like dark plum, with some spicy notes of anise seed, then dark cherry, hint of cassis. Good structure on the palate here. Nose started out discreetly, but there is a lot of substance on the palate. It is still youthful. Today it is mainly about the primary fruit, those juicy dark plum, cassis and cherry. The tannins are starting to integrate. A lot of extract, but really well-defined and finely grained. Good level of acidity as well. There is a bit more spiciness showing up on the finish. Quite mild spiciness for now, like clove and white pepper. Not a lot of oak is present. I think there is a slight hint in the background, but really well built. Still a bit youthful and unresolved. It certainly does have the structure and the weight to develop for ten years or something in that direction. I would happily drink it but it should certainly gain more complexity in the coming years.
