Castello Vicchiomaggio – Vigna La Prima – 2009

Quite dark ruby with a purple core. The nose shows darker fruit, some new oak, plum, blackcurrant, mint and dark cherry; the palate is rich and chewy with good density, balanced acidity, dark chocolate, dark berries, well integrated oak and a long, warm finish; attractively done.
