Bulgaria,
Thracian Valley,
Very youthful colour here; blue purple, almost opaque at the centre. Intense nose; good purity of fruit here, really an emphasis on fruit with cassis, dark plum, dark cherry. Spicy notes almost like gingerbread here, with ginger, clove, sweet pepper, a lot of things. Really nice palate here, good density of fruit, without any heaviness. Good extract here, really finely grained tannin, juicy dark cassis, blackberry fruit, with some peppery notes, and that sweet spiciness a la gingerbread. Really good length. Well-integrated oak as well, just some roasted notes in the background. Lush and bold on the finish, with good nuance and layers, long persistence. Really interesting; a nice discovery, I really like it. I have no clue what it is, but really attractive and juicy. A wine with a great potential for further aging, doubtlessly.
