Saint Chinian Roquebrun

France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Deep colour, a rather dense core, dense ruby red, but some evolution, nothing purple or blue. Clean nose, with a hint of evolution, just some notes of wood in there, ripe dark fruit, some floral hints, blackberry and plum, with sweet spices, and some peppery notes. A bit more than medium weight on the palate, it’s a rather warm and lush texture. We have beautiful however ripe tannins in here, rather juicy dark fruit from ripe grapes, it’s a quite warm climate. Final layer with some spiciness, pepper, clove, vanilla, juicy fruit, nice evolution on the nose, a bit more youthful on the palate but still with a rather long finish. Attractive ripe fruit. A wine that should be drunk with pleasure within the coming few years, and a certain level of complexity already.
