France,
Rhone Valley,
Red wine with a dark intense core, purple, colours the glass. Youthful nose, quite intense, offering dark berry fruit, violet, blackberry, pepper. Not a lot of new oak but perhaps a hint of wood there. Palate keeps within that medium-bodied frame. I like the dense core of fruit, really quite ripe dark berries, with the underlying peppery spiciness, some notes of ginger and clove. Well-preserved acidity, discreet oak. Tannins are already well-integrated. Medium-long finish. I call this a nice and drinkable wine right now because it has juicy dark peppery fruit. Already balanced, with a good freshness and drinkability.
