Cave du Château d’Auvernier – Pinot Noir – 2014
Neuchatel

Switzerland,
Neuchatel,
Medium deep, ruby-red colour with a slight hint of purple, indicating youth. The nose is pure with floral notes, combining red and dark fruits. No noticeable oak and a fairly mild spiciness. Palate is on the lighter side, quite soft and subtle texture. In terms of extract, it is quite a mild tannin, but still youthful. So there is a slight tannic sensation there, but nothing to worry about it. It drinks pretty well. The acidity is quite high, also an indication of youth. So a quite soft and subtle, with sweet red fruit, mild spiciness, no indication of oak really. Finish which is medium towards long. In terms of persistence. So I would call this, balanced and well-made Pinot Noir style. That if you want should drink pretty well right now, but I am convinced it will gain more complexity in the coming years.
