Valais

Switzerland,
Valais,
Red wine with a quite developed colour, medium intense ruby with a slightly tawnier rim. Delicate nose, reminiscent of Pinot Noir with some floral notes, fine spices; there’s a slight hint of vanilla, clove, sweet pepper, with discreet wood. Palate has medium weight, with a great freshness of fruit. The fruit is already quite supple and rounded, with a certain evolution. I get some hints here of pain d’épices, like sweet spices, with sweet red fruit, discreet wood. Rather elegant, well rounded, good freshness, discreet wood, and a fairly long finish. A rather complex wine in a supple, rounded style; reminiscent to me of Pinot in a Burgundian style. Perfect drinkability today but it has the texture and structure to go on for a few more years.
