France,
Bordeaux,
Very youthful here, almost inky core. Fine nose, good purity of fruit. We have dark berries, a lot of cassis, a slight hint of mint; dark plum, indicating a good ripeness, and no oak influence really. Good grip on the palate here, layers of dark juicy fruit. Still youthful texture, but the tannins are quite polished here. Those juicy dark plum notes, cassis keep lingering on the finish. Well-preserved freshness as well. There’s a herbal spiciness but not in a green and lean way, rather that minty influence and dark blackcurrant notes. Good weight, quite full, good density of fruit and long persistence. A wine which is nicely made, with a good purity of fruit. Rather accessible today; I could drink it today, I would decant it prior to serving it but I think it shows fairly well now and it certainly has the weight and density to go on in your cellar.
