France,
Bordeaux,
Medium-deep colour with ruby, still with a slightly purple hue. Generous nose. Quite intense, combining some roasted oak with slight hint of spiciness. Quite ripe fruit. More on the red fruity side, with plum, red currant, wild berries, hint of vanilla. Good bite on the palate. Good weight. I would say, already quite rounded in terms of texture. There is a fine extraction. Still with some noticeable oak, some roasted flavours, but not too much of it. I think it rather adds a nice spicy layer there. Some anise seed, vanilla, coffee bean with juicy red fruit. Ripe red berries and plum. Quite grainy tannin, just about to integrate. Quite long and lingering on the finish. With a good sense of freshness. A hint of minerality. I should say certainly a fine potential. Give it another one to two years and from then on it should develop for eight to ten more years.
