Dark purple core and a lighter ruby rim indicating some maturity. Pure and intense nose with good purity, layers and complexity, combining chalk, truffle, ripe dark fruit, crushed blackberry, cassis and cherry with mild oak and toast underneath. The palate shows good density with ripe, vibrant fruit, a fresh acidity gives lift, grainy tannin and a refreshing herbaceous spiciness leading to a long lingering finish.
