France,
Bordeaux,
Quite deep colour here, still appearing youthful with a purple core. Medium towards dark ruby-red. Youthful nose quite intense with good purity of fruit, underlined by some new oak. Slightly roasted with mild spiciness. Darker fruit characters here with plum, wild berry fruit, some spicy notes of liquorice and some floral hints of violet. Palate is medium towards full weight. Good density of fruit. Some fine tannic backbone but rather rounded extract. Bright and fresh acidity as well. Quite persistent flavours. Still youthful and unresolved and mostly primary fruit flavours. Good grip and length on the finish. A wine which is fairly approachable today. I would happily drink it after a slight decantation. Should be drunk over the coming few years with great pleasure and keep for up to another ten years.
