France,
Provence,
Red wine, still very youthful at the core, with a dark purple core; some more indication of age towards the rim, which is more lightly ruby. The nose is quite ripe, some maturity in terms of age but also ripe because the fruit is quite sweet like prunes, figs, some stewed berries. Not a lot of oak, but some sweet spiciness. The palate is quite dense here, still with quite youthful and pronounced tannins. It’s quite rich in terms of density and weight, with a pretty long finish; it keeps lingering for a while. It feels like a warm vintage here, ripe grapes, some of those slightly stewed sweet characters. Pretty long finish, but I still feel a certain presence of tannin; so a wine I would like to perhaps put away for one or two years to get more roundness on the palate.
