France,
Provence,
Red wine with a medium deep ruby red colour. Fine nose here, feels quite ripe with a sweet fruitiness; sweet spices like clove, some pepper, ginger, with a mix of red and dark berries. Palate is quite full here in terms of fruitiness, we have a lot of ripe berry fruits and plum in there, with a gentle spiciness, some peppery notes like cinnamon, cardamom. Extraction is nicely taken care of here, we have a backbone of tannin adding freshness, but it’s not hard or angular in any way. Well-balanced, with a good dose of freshness backing up that ripe and sweet fruit. There’s a hint of oak emerging on the aftertaste, so we still feel it’s a rather young wine, but I would deem it quite drinkable today. Certainly it would gain some more nuance over the coming one to two years; but nicely made and forward.
