France,
Provence,
Red wine, very youthful appearance here with a deep ruby-purple core, not a lot of colour on the rim, or not a lot of evolution I should say. Primary fruits on the nose here, ripe, quite sweet fruitiness of plum, sweet berries; mild spices like clove, vanilla. I get vanilla but not a lot of oak, aromatically. Quite generous palate here, with layers of youthful fruit; I get some notes of dark berries, sweet plum, with that cardamom, cinnamon, peppery notes. There’s some oak here, it’s still in a youthful phase but I think it’s pretty well-integrated here, just some roasted notes emerging on the finish. In terms of structure, it’s somewhere between medium to full, if we should simplify like that. In terms of fruitiness it’s ripe, it has a good weight. The extract is under control here, we have youthful tannin but they’re quite ripe. It keeps lingering for a while, it has a good weight. It’s certainly a wine that would develop over the coming 5 to 6 years, maybe even longer, so I would keep this one for another year before attempting to drink it; but I think pretty soon it should be drinkable, because it has all the components, and it appears pretty balanced to me.
