France,
Provence,
Red wine with a medium towards deep ruby-red colour, with a flash of purple at the core. Still youthful on the nose, I get some hints here of oak, of something nutty like almond; with also some pepper, a hint of smoke, and quite ripe so rather on the dark fruity side here, with dark berries, dark cherry. Good purity on the palate here, a pretty good weight in terms of density and concentration. Still very youthful; we have pronounced tannins on the mid-palate, more on the finish, but I would say pretty well integrated here, this will easily dissolve into the wine in the coming two years. Oak is under control as well, we feel some roasted notes here. I think the fruit is quite delicious here, more on those dark berry notes with lightly smoky, lightly roasted notes; but I think everything is in place, well-balanced. Nice extraction, smoky spicy fruit. The finish is pretty long, it keeps lingering. Now the oak is present on the finish, but it’s just the matter of another one to two years and I think it will all be well-integrated, with a nice drinkability.
