Bordeaux Supérieur

France,
Bordeaux,
Red wine with a dense core here, ruby-red with a slight evolution on the rim. Fine nose with some evolution and complexity. I get a lot of ripe fruit here, dark plum, cassis, some aromatic herbs and a slight touch of leather. A certain complexity. Quite dense palate here, vigorous tannin, still present. However, I would say not obtrusive in a way, just giving a lift. I would say a classic quite tight, muscular style, but there is a wealth of fruit as well, with dark plum, cassis, and aromatic herbs flavours. Good freshness and integrated oak as well. There is an approaching complexity, and I would say that this was a wine that was probably very tight in its youth, but it is about to open up now. I kind of like it in its quite robust and muscular style. Another one to two years in the cellar would really do well.
