France,
Provence,
Red wine, very youthful appearance here, dense inky core. Still very youthful aromatically, showing off some new oak, quite dark fruity notes here; I get some hints of mocha, some roasted oak, dark plum, and cherry notes. Palate has medium weight, a bit more. Quite dense fruit here, combining ripe berries with quite peppery spicy notes. There’s some notes of freshly ground pepper, with some notes of bouquet garni or garrigue. A certain amount of oak, but not in any intrusive way. There’s a good deal of freshness as well, giving a lift to that dark spicy fruit. It has a pretty long finish. The only thing is that it’s still appearing a bit young, which is normal. I think this is a wine that will open up quite nicely within the coming one to two years, and from then on it should develop for 5 to 8 years easily.
