France,
Bordeaux,
A youthful quite dark colour here, deep ruby-red. Still youthful on the nose, displaying some hints of wood. Fruit still feels quite young, with hints of almost freshly crushed berries like red currant, cassis and plum. Palate however is nicely rounded already; I like this texture here, combining quite finely grainy tannins with that juicy plum, red berry character. Well-preserved freshness. There’s a hint of underlying oak here, adding just a gentle touch of vanilla. Good length here, quite persistent, with a nice juicy finish, with a good emphasis on fruit; and I think the tannins are already well-settled, good purity of fruit. Classic style, elegant; very enjoyable today, but doubtlessly with a long potential for aging.
