France,
Bordeaux,
Medium deep ruby red colour, some evolution, but still quite dense at the core actually. Fine nose here, it’s pure with elegant fruit, there’s a slightly mineral hint to it, I would call it like “gravelly Cabernet Merlot” with cassis, red currant, aromatic herbs and plum. Fine toastiness as well, some roasted coffee, fine wood, tobacco. Nice palate, I would call it quite classic and stylish, which means it’s still pure in terms of the fruit, there’s nothing rustic here; really vibrant fruit here, juicy cassis, dark berry flavours. The oak is really well-settled. We still have a youthful texture, the tannins are still present, but they’re nicely polished. Very good freshness as well. It’s definitely more than medium weight if you talk about the concentration and density, it has a good grip; and it really keeps lingering for a good while, so very good length. I find this very nice, stylish, in a classic well-made style. It’s certainly a wine I take a lot of pleasure in imbibing right now today, but judging from its potential it should certainly develop well for a long time and gain some more complexity over the next 2 to three years; and then it should be really fine.
