France,
Bordeaux,
Medium towards deep colour, there is a rather dark core, ruby towards the rim. The nose is pure. Also showing some development. It is blending red and dark fruit, with some aromatic herbs, bay leaf and sage. Sweet plum, a gentle hint of oak. Quite full-bodied. There is good weight to it. Good density of fruit. I like the freshness here. Really good blend of that fresh berry fruit with quite sweet plum. However, the wine does appear with a very good level of freshness. I think the extract is already integrated as well. Rather polished tannin. Fine degree of oak as well. Just a gentle hint in the background. It has good length. It really stays on the palate for a while. The finish is fresh despite the fruit that is giving an impression of sweetness. Fine example, approachable today and it should easily have a lifespan of eight, ten, twelve more years.
