France,
Bordeaux,
Very inky colour here, really opaque centre with a blue-purple nuance. Very ripe on the nose here, modern fruit, dark blackberry, cassis; some spicy notes as well, a hint of new oak. Palate is very concentrated, youthful, with a quite massive structure today; layers of dark fruit, of cassis, plum, kirsch. Still the extract is finely tuned, with grainy tannins, a well-preserved acidity. It’s obviously a very potent wine that should develop and age really well. Good balance between fruit and extract. Very long finish. It’s just a bit massive and monolithic today and should need time to gain nuance; but ambitious and well-made, with a bright future.
