France,
Bordeaux,
Quite youthful in appearance here, with a purple-blue hue dense core. Youthful nose with some hints of plum, some herbs, red berry fruit, some dried spices like anise seed and liquorice. More on the fruity side, with no real evidence of oak. Palate has medium weight, still appearing quite youthful with a marked tannin presence. Slightly tannic finish, red berry flavours with a sweet plum and then some herbal notes. Slightly leafy like tobacco leaf, bay leaf, some wild herbs there. Still youthful in terms of freshness as well. High acidity, medium toward long finish. A wine that should best be kept, in my mind, for another one or two years before drinking it to round off the edges; but it should go on pretty well.
