France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Red wine with a medium deep colour, it has lost its blue and purple and is rather on its ruby side. Fine nose combining some roasted wood, gently spicy notes with nice sweet fruit. Sweet but not cooked, indicating good ripeness and rather a mixture of red and dark berries, some notes of cassis, some hints of plum. Palate has medium high volume, with a beautiful texture, the tannins are still quite marked there, we feel a slight tannic bite on the palate, we have well-balanced fruit, some notes of cassis and some sweeter hints of the plum. We have some noticeable oak on the palate as well, but not really too much, it’s something that will settle and integrate with some more aging. Some tobacco notes. Quite persistent on the palate. A bit more than medium long. A wine that is certainly a candidate for the cellar, that will develop over the coming years, I would prefer to keep it for another year before drinking it.
