France,
Bordeaux,
Quite high colour intensity here, dark ruby-red, still with a youthful hint of purple. Fine nose starting to show some development and complexity already. There is a hint of tobacco leaf, sweet plum, with some cassis. A gentle hint of oak. A good sensation of freshness, a hint of earthiness or minerality as well. Fine balance on the palate. This is a bit more than medium weight, it has quite good weight. And attractive fruit, combining cassis, sweet plum, so a quite good ripeness of fruit. Still nicely restrained by a fresh level of acidity. Slight herbal spiciness in the direction of bay leaf and mint adding freshness and zest. I pick up very gentle oak on the nose, it is not really noticeable on the palate. In terms of texture, I would say it is quite polished. A lot of grainy tannin, but nicely integrated already. Gentle creaminess in the hint of butterscotch and vanilla. Long lasting finish. Nice persistence. What I say is a quite young wine, it is already approachable and already displaying a certain softness, all parts are together. It should certainly continue to develop complexity over the coming ten, twelve, fifteen years or whatever you would like. It shows well now and is truly enjoyable.
