France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
White wine, quite youthful with a slight green tinge and a light golden colour. Very intense nose here; there’s some new oak, some roasted notes. It’s very aromatic, with bold quite tropical fruit like apricot, peach, some floral notes; quite Viognier like in terms of variety, so a very aromatic variety with a hint of oak aging as well. Palate has medium weight, with a clear presence of wood here, some roasted notes. A rather youthful acidity here, and the fruit is a bit more backwards today, more discreet than on the nose. Quite unctuous in terms of structure here, we have an acidity which is medium-high, but it’s made in a bone-dry style so it still keeps a certain level of freshness. Medium towards long on the aftertaste but I still think that the oak is a bit pronounced here, with those roasted notes. It’s a wine that would probably need some more time to shed that oaky sensation.
